Brainstormer 2008

The Annual Phoenix oraganised General quiz competition entered it's second year with a proverbial bang. It was bigger and better than before, with a salivating array of prizes, big banners and a new venue to boot. 

Participation exceeded the good and was in league with the excellent. 65+ teams registered, including a variety of teams from almost all reputed undergraduate institutions in the city. NSEC was suitably represented with almost 30 teams from the college itself. 

Our favorite Sourav da conducted the quiz and threw at us an array of brainteasers, all carrying his sigature garb of apparent simplicity while being truly challenging underneath.

Come the written preliminaries, the good teams prevailed over the ordinary . Out of the six teams that made it to the final, NSEC was represented by only one. The finals brought along questions that were a notch higher in terms of difficulty and several notches higher in terms of interest. Especially the connection round was pure genius.

At the end of a hard-fought six rounds Potoldanga Thunder Club from Rajabazaar Science College put several into the net and emerged worthy winners of the competition. As they held the trophy aloft, it was plain that Brainstormer 08 had made an emphatic statement !!
